WHEN TO GET A TOOTHBRUSH FOR BABY
We conclude our three-part series on baby oral health with a recommendation for a toothbrush. As we mentioned in a previous post, many doctors recommend using a soft washcloth to wipe baby’s teeth and gums clean during their first year. When more teeth emerge, it is necessary to get a toothbrush for baby. With many choices of toothbrushes on the market, I can share with you what was recommended to me by a Los Angeles area dentist who was working the Nobel Prize in Dentistry for 17 years.
NIMBUS DENTAL
The NIMBUS MICROFINE Extra Soft toothbrush recommended now is available in kids’ size as well. It was designed by a periodontist to provide maximum cleaning with minimal abrasion to the gums. “Those other toothbrushes are barbaric on the gums” explained the dentist. It is extrememly soft, and therefore, needs to be replaced once a month because the bristles break down. Many dentists recommend replacing a toothbrush once a month and immediately after coming down with a flu or virus. Throwing out the old toothbrush gets rid of the germs and bacteria, they explain.
Choose Nimbus toothbrushes for everyone in your family. Just remember to replace them once a month. Available at nimbusdental.com or amazon.com.
Stellar Caterpillar or Donna Eshelman does not profit in anyway from recommending this product.
